*I work odd hours and the film industry is a very hostile environment of barely controlled chaos. I am surrounded all day by HUGE egos and try to stay away from people when not working.
*I am not working as I had a fall and can no longer be an asset that I once was. I still get into my rig once in a while as a favor to a company who has stood by me thick and thin and keeps it off the books as a personal favor.
*Yes, I have done adult films for a couple of the big studios, no I will not tell my pseudonym I work under nor my "professional name" Which would allow me to be tracked under IMDb.
*No, I do not enjoy working in porn. It is grueling work for the models and for us. They work 18 hours and we can work 20+ on a single shift then not work for weeks. If you are lucky you will get a PA or grip to do some stuff for you but usually, you are doing everything from adjusting lights to standing in for the models as they get some water back into their systems.
I also don't like the way porn looks today and do tend to vintage porn made on film as they were, by necessity, much more artistically done. Actually, this is one of the easiest ways to tell a pro from a guy with a couple of lights and a handi-cam. A pro will make sure the lights are as dim (low but warm (tungsten balanced light) as possible and use a high-grade camera better in low light.
*Obviously, I geek out on cameras, lighting, and all things technical about a film. Don't engage me on this I would have to explain terms and jargon (Stinger, color temp vs. Light temp., what it means to "Hollywood it" or "It's the martini", and the Trig used to determine the focal length needed for a shot. It would read like a tech spec.
*I will also geek our about those euro-boy type "professional " videos so popular these days.
Those models are put through waxing from hairline to toes, spray on makeup that only alcohol can remove, Powdering to reduce and "fix" said makeup, and a thousand indignities that are just horrible to endure.
They are usually poor street hustlers who work for relatively low pay and some clothing the director THINKS the look best in. Usually not USA based as they would pay a much higher wage. Though there are many exceptions. They work those huge hours often with only short recovery.
Believe it or not, many models are actually straight in the industry as they get higher pay. Yes, they do bottom, and Yes a fluffer is a real job. No, I will not share that contact info so, do not ask. Like everyone else, these places advertise when they want models. Like this country, only perhaps 1-3% of very popular models get paid the big bucks. The rest work for from 100-300 dollars for 12 hours and time and 1/2 for every hour over 12. Prorated of course.
Enough, that is porn.
*I suffer from PTSD and all the associated disorders that go with it. I have other health issues that we all get as we get older.
*I carry some extra pounds on me, 250lbs with a belly. Otherwise, I am muscular in the arms and legs HWP, this is recent and mainly due to a huge fall I had while filming an action shot for a major picture.
*I do not publicly disclose which big studios, or small ones for that matter, that I work for. I usually am bound by nondisclosure agreements anyway.
*I am dyslexic and dyscalculic (same thing, only with numbers instead of words).
*I get depressed. I shun company unless I have a street hustler trying to gain a foothold and improve his life.
*I am not easy to like. The film industry and the associated assholes within it have made me rather blunt and I am totally convinced that I am correct about what I am doing.
*I also need to have things exactly where I put them.
*I grunt to acknowledge something or don't speak and just do.
*I won't always talk especially if I am doing something. This is a habit from on set. I can't break it.
